Sociology

‘Why does the world seem so unfair and how can we make it better?’

With growing social injustices every day and rates of ‘cancel culture’ increasing we have begun to question the world around us more now than ever. We have increased awareness of social issues as the world is under the microscope of social media.

Sociology does not offer a complete answer but seeks to provide students with tools to begin to understand the social mechanics of our extraordinary lives.

Possible Career Paths:

  • Social Work

  • Social Research
  • Activism

  • Law and Legal Aid
  • Police

An A level Sociology classroom offers you the opportunity to explore your own views and understanding with informed discussion from the forefront of social research whilst drawing on the knowledge from founding theorists. We cannot only consider the traditional works of writers but how their ideas translate into modern day injustices.
