COPE
Students carry out challenges in order to achieve credit and build up a portfolio of evidence of their achievements.
There are 12 topic areas from which challenges can be selected including:
- Communication
- Citizenship
- Sport and leisure
- Independent Living
- The environment
- Vocational Preparation
- Health and Fitness
- Work Related Learning and Enterprise
- Science and Technology
- International Links
- Expressive arts
- Beliefs and values
Assessment and Accreditation
Cope Level 1 – Equivalent to GCSE Grade 2 (point score 25)
COPE Level 2 - Equivalent to GCSE Grade 5 (point score 46)
YAS Bronze Award - requires 2 credits and a portfolio of evidence.
Other Information
- There are NO EXAMS!
- You have an opportunity to undertake work experience
- You will receive support to help you prepare for post 16
- It is very practical and ‘hands on‘ and develops your skills for life
- It is very IT based
- You can get credit from other subjects that you study
- You can get credit from outside interests and hobbies e.g sport, dance, drama, cadets
- It is a small group (maximum of 9)
