Frequently asked questions

Do I have to take all Core subjects?

Yes, all students take the Core subjects at GCSE. These subjects provide you with a broad base to build your own personalised curriculum.

Can I take more than one Modern Foreign Language?

You can take 2 Languages if you wish but this will limit your choices later.  You must have studied the languages in year 7 and 8 to take it at GCSE.  Talk to your languages teachers to get some advice.

I didn't do a Language in year 7 and 8 do I still need to take one for GCSE.

No. You can choose an extra Option subject if this is the case.

Can I take History and Geography?

Yes, there is nothing to stop you taking both if that is what interests you.
