Every year the Royal Society of Chemistry runs a competition aimed at UK Year 13 students, to stretch and challenge their knowledge. It is an extremely hard exam paper really pushing the edg-es of their Chemistry knowledge, only 5389 students entered in the county! This year we had 5 Year 13 students enter but also had 2 Year 12 students give it a try as well.
The results were fantastic, 4 of the Year 13 students achieved a silver award putting them in the top third of students who entered. Even more amazing is the two Year 12 students who entered achieved a bronze (top two thirds) and silver award, a fantastic achievement entering a year early – I have high hopes for them in next year’s competition.
Congratulations go to:
Silver Awards: Fateen Maqbool, Jacob Piechota, Mia Cook, James Walton, Matthew Metcalf
