West Bridgford School embraces the learning opportunities that school trips allow. Every week students leave the school site, taking part in a range of trips, competitions and events.  From the half day trips to A Level Conferences, right through to our major foreign trips, such the two ski trips going to Italy at February half-term, we are always proud of our students behaviour and ability to impress. We cannot under-estimate the value attached to the name ‘West Bridgford School’ on a CV, and the importance that trips into the wider community play in this. Here are just a few of last week’s excursions.

Boots Yr12 Computing Trip By Mr Eyre

This Thursday Year 12 Computing Students were invited to Boots HO at Beeston to tour the facilities, meet developers and see some of bootsthe work that takes place.  They also met up with new apprentices there who were previously at WBS; and found out about the opportunities for Developer apprenticeships after A levels.  The superb programs on offer have given many food for thought as a viable alternative to University; and it was good to hear that other big employers in Nottingham are also starting such schemes.

On Tuesday 17th November the excited Year 12 Psychologists attended the Science and Pseudoscience conference at Npsychologyottingham Playhouse. Target 2.0 Economics Competition By Mr Smith

On Thursday 20th November, a team of Year 13 economists travelled to the Nottingham Racecourse to take part in the Bank of Englaeccond's Target 2.0 competition. They delivered a 15 minute presentation on their recommendations for the Monetary Policy Committee and then answered a series of questions from the judging panel of Bank of England staff.  Mixing with many of the region’s top private and grammar schools the team put in a very creditable performance. This competition is now an annual event for our economics students teaching them valuable presentation skills as well as giving them a deep insight into UK monetary policy.
